The past few weeks in writing we have been writing biographys about a person of our choice. I chose to write about Sabre Elle Norris. Sabre is a surfer, skater and family youtuber. She has been posting her life since she was 9. Heres what I wrote.

This week for reading we have been learning about Bethany Hamilton. Our goals for this week were think while reading, pick up new information, and come up with new ideas and new thinking and use ground rules to have a group discussion about text.

The create for this week was about kid heroes, The three people i chose, Bethany Hamilton, Alexandra Scott and Sophie Pascoe. This is what i made.

So, how can you make an impact?

Kia Ora, over the past few weeks in kaupeka for PBL we have been learning about the earth such as rocks, soil, life forms and water. Once we had learnt all about them we had to make a create which was a 3D model, a paper mashe or a minecraft model.

I chose to do the 3D model. It had to incorporate all of things we had learnt about. For rock i chose to use sedimentary rocks. Sedimentary rocks are rocks  formed from pre-existing rocks or pieces of once-living organisms. For my soil i did sand and dirt. The life forms i chose to put fish in the lake and for the water i did fresh water in my stream.

This week in reading our goal was to know how to read between the lines. Reading between the lines is where you read a text and where you notice something in the text that hasn’t been said but has been interpreted. This is the the create i have made this week.

This week in reading we were reading about global warming and our create was to make a DLO about our opinions on global warming. Here were Ella, Sophie and mine.

What are your opinions about global warming? Are they different to ours?

This week in writing we have been doing a writing task board. We got the choice to do 3 out of the 5 that were on the hub site. The one i chose to write my blog about was my future me writing. We had to write a a letter to our future self about things that we like at the moment or what we are doing and what some of the things we hope we are doing by the time we read our letter again. Here is my letter.

For reading this week in kaupeka we have been doing a task board. We got to pick to out of 5 things. Sophie, Ella and I chose to do a interview about the haka pretending to interview someone from New Zealand about the haka and the interviewers were from a different country. Here is the video we made about the haka.

Did you learn anything new by watching this interview?? If so what was it?

Goal : Find patterns and notice similarity. Last week in week 1 math we were finding patterns and learnt about what the different patterns are and what we can make with all the different patterns. we were also learning to find the rule. This is the create i made for it

What were the patterns you noticed in this??

For the last four weeks of Term 3 we were learning about ‘How we can be Champions on Peace. Firstly we learnt about the different symbols of peace. Some of these are the C&D symbol, a dove, and the V sign also known as the peace sign which you make with you hands

These symbols represent peace because a dove shows peace by reprensting peace with god, and the V sign shows peace beacuse it was made in the usa during the 1960s and used in the wars as sign of peace.

With these symbols in mind I created a Peace Artwork. My Peace Artwork represents peace because it includes a peace sign this is what i made 

We also researched some real life champions of peace and wrote a short biography. I wrote about Malala Yousafzai, I thought this person was a champion of peace because she became an international symbol of the fight for girls’ education

We also created a peace prayer book. This is what i made: 

I enjoyed learning about peace because its something i haven’t really learnt about it before. I learnt that lots of people can be champions of peace for many different things.

This week in Kaupeka we went to Wainui camp for 3 days.

Some of the activities we did were coasteering, self led games, archery, orienteering and more. The thing i most enjoyed doing coasteering and orienteering because i have never done coasteering before and i was with my friends for orienteering.

I was in a cabin with Georgia, Freya, Kiriana, Sovarne, Madison, Jules, Olivia, and I.

Have you ever been to camp before? If so what activities did you do and what was your favorite part
